formerly FUCKING DANCE.

  • Artist: LEOPARD OF HONOUR
  • TrackName: TEENAGE FANTOD

um. this is amazing. Leopard Of Honour, Mancunian born producer David Roocroft, has created aquatic futuristic synth pop that wouldn’t sound out of place in 2525. possibly.

trouble.

the overwhelming urge to just fill up all your tumblr dashboards with a page of internet love hearts is almost unbearable at the moment. instead i’m going to try to use words to describe how much i am feeling TEED.

possibly my favourite live highlight of the year so far (thx Camden Crawl, soz OFWGKTA), Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs has begun carving out his own path on the trail to pop-stardom by creating near perfect melancholic dance numbers. Trouble is just one of those but ‘Household Goods’ is a personal favourite of mine. anyway the single is available on iTunes and the awesome video went online yesterday so have a look…

new HudMo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. EP out in August.

toyboy.

Lianne La Havas is the bomb diggity.

RIP Gil Scott Heron.

one of the truest artists to have lived. “that’s what Brothers are for, brother”.

  • Artist: Planningtorock
  • TrackName: Manifesto
  • Album: W

Planningtorock - Manifesto from the album W. so fucking good.

what’s not to love about Cave Painting? everything i’ve heard thus far has been the best brand of slightly melancholic yet upbeat guitar led sunshiney pop and ‘So Calm’ is no different. lovely.

unf. SO GOOD.

The Chain - Lostwithiel via R&S.

BRAIDS.

after wowing my pants off with ‘Native Speaker’ and then unforgettably blowing my brains at Great Escape, i have the pleasure of offering one reader a pair of tickets to see BRAIDS live at Camp in East London on Wednesday (25th) evening.

hosted by Rockfeedback and also featuring Dom and Weird Dreams as support, this is not a line up you should be missing out on.

all you have to do is email your full name to cruelrhythm @ gmail . com (sans spaces) followed by the nationality of BRAIDS. closes Wednesday 12pm!

make sure you RSVP at the facebook event too.

ophelia.

if you missed Wild Beasts on Jools on Friday then get yourself acquainted with this heart-wrenching performance of ‘Bed Of Nails’ from the astoundingly beautiful ‘Smother’ LP. maybe my favourite UK band at the moment. love love love love love i’m in love.

  • Artist: When Saints Go Machine
  • TrackName: Kelly

pretty obsessed with the new When Saints Go Machine album. they’ve put most of it up on youtube, and you can pre order it now. out 6th June.

Marques.

couple of weeks ago i hit up Camden Crawl and then Great Escape, once i get rid of this cold i’m putting together a joint podcast (whoopee). one of the standout performances for me was seeing Marques Toliver. charming, talented and impossibly hypnotic, Marques is being touted as ‘one to watch’ and the guys at Bands In Transit (bands playing in vans) caught up with him at TGE. check it ouuut.

  • Artist: BLOUSE
  • TrackName: Nights & Days

this is like ultimate dream-gaze. ‘Nights & Days’ is the b-side to the new single from BLOUSE, the 7” is out end of May via Subpop. according to their facebook they’re unlikely to set foot in the UK before early next year but when they do come here and play some shows i am gonna be allllll over that.

belongings.

new video from Clock Opera is really rather wonderful and 100% perfect for soothing my aches and pains post Great Escape.
