if you haven’t heard this yet, i really hope for your sake you live under a rock/are trapped in someone’s basement or a Chilean mine. if i was a bit cooler i’d probably say this was hella trill. i’m not so i’m just going to say it’s fucking awesome.

sometimes you hear something and think ‘that is so nice i want to play it on a loop til my speakers wear out’, sometimes you hear something and think ‘bloody hell that SOUNDS like Friday and sunshine’ and sometimes you hear something and think ‘i want all of this in my ear forever’. this track (and the rest of the EP) is all of those thoughts.
tropical euphoria from Perseus, out on the amazing French Express label.

kind of tempted to do some sensational typing about guitar bands coming ‘BACK’ but err, they never really ‘went’? did they? was too busy watching all the -step movements.
Lovepark are making all the right kind of noises for me. Brighton based indie guitar pop, lovely.

just wanted to do a little post to say Happy New Year’s Eve to everyone! not sure how it’s actually possible but i might be more excited about music than i have ever been before. 2012 looks like it will have us all dancing on the ceiling.
this is one of my fave songs of the year. one for the journey home at 7am. have a good night!

The Weeknd - D.D.
fucking props. my favourite Jacko song, re-done in style.
‘Echoes Of Silence’ is available to download for free here.

close your eyes, wave your hands in the air like you just don’t care and pretend it’s Friday every day until January 30th when this gets an official release via Digital Soundboy.
oh Emily King. nothing short of wonderful.

FINALLY some new Bondax. yesssssssssssssss. think this just left me wanting more and more.
does any of this matter in the long run? not really. as we’ve seen from previous lists about lists about lists, the results don’t necessarily indicate buying patterns/hype follow up. so yeah, i’ll keep it extremely brief. some of the picks are pretty ‘LOL RILLY??’.

in the blog list I voted for the following acts (note we were asked to pick who we’d LIKE to have a successful year, not just who we think definitely will do):

Galapagos tugging away at the ol’ heart strings with this re-working of a Jennifer Hudson track. pretty much made the whole thing sound twenty thousand times better than it did originally.
What We Hoped To Achieve (Recorded Live at Flesh + Bone) from ululation on Vimeo.
emerging from the shadows.

The Internet - Cocaine (Little Dragon remix)
might as well just rename this blog ‘Little Dragon fan 4 eva n eva n eva’. gorgeous remix via FACT.

out today. still keeping things warm regardless of the season, the new single from London’s Maribou State is a piece of dancefloor gold that has been seriously and slickly crafted. available on Fat! Records.
a haunting, enthralling, completely captivating release from Off Modern’s Gabriel Bruce. ‘Sleep Paralysis’ is creepy to the point of total intrigue. the vinyl, which has been incorporated into an illustrated book that features anecdotes, drawings, medical texts and a whole host of other material based on the song title subject, looks like it’s going to be one hell of a special release. out on Dec 5th - preorder it here.

so i have this system on facebook whereby when Ross from Truants posts a link to some music with this face: O_O i know it is going to be painfully good. as if i needed more proof that the system works, this just went up. the face strikes again.
if you don’t know Citizen by now, sort it out. i’ve been going back to his soundcloud repeatedly for a few months and he’s still blowing me away every time.
